The Model of Bioflexible Periodization

The Model of Bioflexible Periodization

Sinopse

As Physical Education students, from our early years of college, we encountered various Periodization Models, yet we still didn't fully understand what they were all about or the nuances of this fantastic topic. However, we were already uncomfortable with some of them, as they didn't address biological adaptations and, for the most part (or in our interpretations), were stuck in predetermined, common time frames. This discomfort grew during our undergraduate studies and with each new work in sports — we emphasized, to fuel the discussion, that we were former athletes and already worked in sports. With each new study, specialization, and course, a growing feeling, a need to seek ways to better model training loads, somehow helping athletes achieve greater performance and significant results. Restlessness was the driving force behind the search for new possibilities, and from there, it was possible to share an innovative, timeless, and dimensionless proposal that considers as its main pillar the feedback from each body, from each individual exposed to the training program under this bioflexible model. In the book, we showcase original ideas developed in high-performance sports during the Olympic cycles of London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, and Tokyo 2020. Highlights: Two Olympic medals (gold, in men's beach volleyball, Rio 2016; and a bronze, Tokyo 2020, in swimming).
